Qualification & Education
Tara is a Speech and Language Therapist registered with CORU and the Irish Association of Speech and Language Therapists. Tara graduated from BSc Speech and Language Therapy in University College Cork with an honours degree. She is dedicated to providing evidence based, high quality care to her clients and collaborates with other professionals to support you in therapy. Tara continues to specialise in her profession and has undertaken numerous courses to develop her skills. These include training in the ADOS-2, Knowledge and Understanding Framework, Self-Harm, Lamh and Colourful Semantics.
Tara has extensive experience working in a range of areas including, Specialist Schools for Children with Intellectual Disability and Autism Spectrum Disorders, Paediatric Community Care, Adult Community Care, Adult Rehabilitation and Paediatric Mental Health. Communication difficulties targeted in these areas include, Developmental Language Disorder, Speech Disorder/ Delay, Language Disorder/ Delay, Stammering, Dysphagia, Aphasia, Dysarthria, Verbal Reasoning Difficulties, Pragmatic Difficulties, Emotional Literacy Difficulties and Narrative Difficulties. Tara has also gained experience in Alternative Augmented Communication implementation, both technical and non-technical.
